Director/Senior Director of Integrated Marketing – Digital and Social Media Marketing

Our team is looking to add a Director/Senior Director of Integrated Marketing, with a focus on digital, social media, and content marketing, to develop integrated marketing plans and lead multi-channel campaign execution for a variety of medtech and biotech clients. We’re looking for someone who is curious, collaborative, and dedicated to exceptional client service. The ideal candidate will also possess a solid grasp of strategic marketing principles, have extensive hands-on experience across a variety of social, digital, and traditional advertising platforms, thrive in an entrepreneurial and collaborative environment, and be able to clearly communicate recommendations and results.

Agency and healthcare industry experience is required. Experience in both B2B and B2C is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee execution of strategic integrated marketing communications programs and campaigns designed to establish/build brands, drive demand, drive leads, and/or build belief in innovative science.
  • Develop and execute advertising plans for B2B/B2C lead generation, demand generation, and brand building programs.
  • Build social media strategies and oversee execution of engaging corporate social media programs.
  • Create campaign forecasts and measurement plans based on target audience and campaign objective.
  • Build target ad groups based on audience insights and customer personas; optimize to drive efficiency.
  • Design and execute A/B testing across campaigns to optimize campaign performance.
  • Manage and optimize campaigns that leverage paid social, search, programmatic, mobile, email, site direct advertising, native advertising, influencer marketing, and conference sponsorships, as appropriate.
  • Translate campaign metrics into meaningful insights to guide campaign optimization.
  • Collaborate across the agency to integrate marketing initiatives with traditional public relations programs.
  • Productively partner with the agency’s creative services division to deliver compelling creative that engages and activates key audiences.
  • Provide strategic counsel and technical guidance to colleagues and clients.
  • Lead teams of early-career digital, social, and integrated marketers.
  • Contribute to the agency’s new business development process by supporting development of proposals/RFP responses and identifying organic growth opportunities.
  • Effectively communicate recommendations and results to the C-suite, through both formal presentations and day-to-day communication.

Skills/Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field; additional certification or coursework specific to digital marketing preferred
  • 7-10+ years of experience developing integrated marketing strategies and activations for healthcare companies (medtech, biotech, and/or pharma)
  • 5+ years of experience working in an agency setting
  • Extensive experience with advertising platforms such as Facebook/Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google/YouTube, Microsoft Advertising, Taboola, Outbrain, demand-side platforms (i.e. Adroll, Adobe Advertising Cloud), and site direct media
  • Proficiency leveraging Google Analytics, Google Data Studio, Adobe Analytics, and tag management systems (Google Tag Manager, Adobe DTM) to measure, analyze and clearly communicate campaign key takeaways to clients
  • Strong understanding of strategic marketing principles and industry best practices and how they apply to medtech and biotech business models
  • Familiarity with CRM and marketing automation products
  • Experience leveraging market research, audience insights and personas, and brand strategy frameworks to inform effective marketing activations.
  • Ability to deliver with confidence strategic counsel and insights-based recommendations to senior executives
  • Knowledge of current digital marketing and social media best practices and passion for exploring evolving trends and opportunities to support client objectives
  • Agility to drive small pilot programs, large multi-channel initiatives, and many opportunities in between
  • Flexibility, self-motivation and record of success working in deadline-driven environment
  • Willingness to embrace a culture of continuous learning and maximize the opportunities provided by a growing organization
  • Experience leading and developing small teams
  • Competency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite software

Account Executive / Senior Account Executive (PR)

The Senior Account Executive is responsible for day-to-day media relations and project management within accounts. As the most media-focussed role on the team, they thrive on developing relationships with key members of the media and successfully pitching clients’ stories. They are also able to integrate social media into PR campaigns and have the necessary skills to communicate effectively with their clients, teams and media contacts.

Responsible for managing multiple accounts, of varying sizes. Launches and manages campaign work, delegates assignments to PR team, and ensures the needs of the client are met.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate team and drive tactical projects from conception to completion; managing timelines, budgets and client deliverables
  • Maintain and increase knowledge of clients and the industry, including trends and issues that may affect clients, their competitors and stakeholders
  • Write professional, error-free core communications materials aligned with client strategy, including press releases, key messages, Q&A’s, social media content
  • Actively participate in client calls, leading discussion on projects and areas of responsibility
  • Work with team to develop recommendations and presentations for clients
  • Develop media pitches and other media materials and pitch stories to reporters/outlets
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of the media landscape, including reporters and outlets important to H+C clients and the broader industry
  • Work with teams on new business pitches, developing research and insights
  • Develop budgets and timelines; learn about budget management, billing and agency operations
  • Coach and mentor Account Executives and Account Coordinators; provide constructive feedback when appropriate

  • Alerts account lead to challenges or obstacles
  • Meets or beats deadlines; clearly communicates when deadlines shift

Account Director / Senior Account Director (PR)

An account director is a senior contact for clients within the agency. They manage and oversee teams to ensure campaigns are developed and delivered and client service expectations are met. Commercially minded and creative in nature, the account director is adept at building relationships with members of the media, industry spokespeople, executives, key opinion leaders and others. They direct and lead teams, projects, providing counsel to clients and teams. As a senior member of the business, they deliver new business and grow existing accounts. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead clients and teams; gaining and sustaining client trust by delivering timely results and strategic recommendations
  • Maintain deep knowledge of clients and the industry, including trends and issues that may affect clients, their competitors and stakeholders
  • Serve as main client contact for day-to-day activities; drive client and internal meetings
  • Review and provide counsel on written materials, ensure documents are strategic, accurate, and well written
  • Work with senior leaders to develop recommendations and presentations to clients and prospects, including writing portions of plans and presentations
  • Drive client and internal meetings
  • Oversee client budgets; prepare invoice summaries
  • Supervise staff; delegate and assign tasks to appropriate team members and provide guidance to meet client needs and encourage team member growth
  • Work with account teams to manage timelines, develop action plans and counsel clients
  • Oversee media strategy development
  • Participate in determining staffing allocations and account projections
  • Be the go-to resource on team for billing and resource allocation; flag budget and staffing issues

  • Proficient knowledge of biotech, pharma, and/or medtech space
  • Minimum 6-7 years agency experience or mix of agency and in-house biotech/medtech experience for AD level; 9-10 years experience for senior AD
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
  • Mastery of media materials development; expert written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive, collegial work environment
